10 candidates square off for 4 Portage council seats; 2 enter mayoral race

Ten candidates have officially entered the race for City Council in Portage and two others for the mayoral race.

The filing deadline for the Nov. 7 election was 4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25.

The mayoral race will pit Councilwoman Lisa Brayton against three-term incumbent Mayor Patricia Randall. Brayton announced recently that she will resign her seat mid-term to challenge Randall for mayor. Her resignation will take effect Nov. 8, win or lose.
